Getting married in London is a dream come true. The city is bursting with venues to suit every taste and budget, whether you’re after classic splendour or simple chic. If you want your event to stand above the rest you should consider one of these five fabulous and unusual wedding venues in London.
Natural History Museum
Your guests won’t have any trouble finding something to talk about when you host your wedding reception at the Natural History Museum. Whether you choose the Victorian splendour of the Hintze Hall, the modern lines of the Darwin Centre, or the truly astounding Earth Hall, you will benefit from an expert functions team who will look after you and your guests. You can even add an extra dimension to your wedding by arranging a special exhibition viewing, giving your guests an experience they will never forget.
While it may not be possible for you to hold your ceremony at Westminster Abbey (that privilege is reserved for royalty, and Order of the Bath members), you can still celebrate your nuptials surrounded by over one thousand years of glorious history. The Cloisters, Chapter House, Cheyney Gates, and Cellarium, as well as the Abbey’s magnificent grounds, each have their own unique atmosphere. It is possible to arrange a private tour for your guests, giving them access to the Abbey few are fortunate enough to enjoy.
Enjoy unparalleled views of London from the top two floors of the city’s most iconic modern building. Searcys at The Gherkin is licenced for ceremonies, allowing you to enjoy your day without rushing from venue to venue. With London spread around you in a glittering 360 degree carpet, you and up to 260 guests will be served gorgeous food and wine in this most special of surroundings.
The Welsh Chapel
This Grade II listed former Welsh Chapel on Shaftsbury Avenue is one of London’s coolest wedding venues. Now privately owned, the domed ceiling and galleried spaces have been expertly renovated to make them safe and comfortable, but allowed to retain a decadently shabby character your guests will love. It’s the ideal place to party, with modern facilities (including WiFi) behind the scenes, and the perfect backdrop for some incredible wedding photos.
Normally you have to be a member to enter Home House, however we can arrange exclusive access for five to 250 guests for your wedding reception. The sumptuous decor provides a suitably grand setting for this most special of days. Richly decorated furnishings, parquet floors, and chandeliers envelop you in an opulent embrace, creating a luxurious and private space to celebrate with your family and friends.
No one wants an average wedding. These unique venues give you the space to create an event which reflects your sense of style, and which gives your guests an exclusive experience they won’t find anywhere else.
