It’s been a very long time since anyone has heard from or laid eyes on Amanda Bynes, who quietly resurfaced on Twitter over the weekend.

The actress gave fans and followers a nice surprise when she shared a photo of herself posing with a friend and bouquets of flowers:

Looking happy and healthy, Bynes tweeted the following:

“Stopping to smell the flowers on a gorgeous Sunday!”

The 31-year-old was in what looks like jogger pants and a black camisole, along with a pair of flats and with her blond hair down.

Her return marks the first we’ve heard of her since two months ago, when the Internet tried to make Amanda Bynes pregnant and engaged.

That got her out of hiding quickly, albeit briefly.

She tweeted, denying the speculation:

“I am not @persianla27. I am not getting married and I am not pregnant. I don’t understand why twitter won’t take @persianla27 down.”

Bynes added to her explanation:

“I have asked repeatedly. This person continues to impersonate and harass me [online] and twitter needs to take the account down.”

Additionally, attorney David A. Esquibias said at the time, “Amanda is neither engaged nor pregnant, and that is not her Twitter account.”

That cleared that up and then some. Prior to those clarifying posts, Bynes had not been active on the social network for six months.

She turned 31 on April 3. Bynes’ attorney said around this time last year that she was in a really good place after all she’s been through.

“She is doing great,” Tamar Arminak told E! News of her status then. “She is happy and healthy, and excited about the future.”

She enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in 2014, but it’s unclear if she still attends classes at that establishment.

Bynes has kept a low profile since she was placed under a psychiatric hold in July 2013, which came after a string of erratic behavior.

Amanda was involuntarily committed after starting a trash fire in a stranger’s driveway in her hometown of Thousand Oaks, California.

Not a moment too soon, as Bynes had been in such a bad place that it’s fortunate she did not severely harm herself or anyone else.

Her mother, Lynn, was granted a temporary conservatorship over her medical care and financial affairs, which Bynes wasn’t a fan of.

Amanda placed under a second psychiatric hold in 2014.

At that point, she alleged that her father Rick sexually abused her, a claim she later retracted, albeit due to the “microchip” in her brain.

As we said, things were not going well for her at all; Amanda was cruising around L.A. and crashing on couches at the mall at one point.

A month later, in November 2014, she wrote that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and began to seek treatment for the condition.

It’s been a very long and tragic road for Bynes, but the good news is that she looks fantastic, and appears to be recovering well.

Mental illness is no joke, and given the extent of hers, it was unclear whether she could be a happy, healthy member of society again.

We wish her the best, whatever the future holds next.
